AccessibleSmiles – Dental Desensitization

Available through Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC) and self-pay options. This 6-month program supports families through weekly sessions, personalized strategies, and structured pre-work, all aimed at easing a child's fear and building readiness for dental exams. Participants prepare for an age-appropriate cleaning, X-rays, and evaluation at Bethel Kids Dental in Manteca—a trusted partner with experience in caring for children with diverse needs.

The process begins with a required screening info session delivered through recorded Zoom videos that outline the program’s goals and expectations. AccessibleSmiles offers an alternative to general anesthesia, focusing on gradual desensitization, practical guidance, and collaboration with parents. Families often report reduced stress, improved coping, and successful dental visits as a result of this unique and compassionate approach.
