Quirky Activity Groups
Burgos Behavior Quirky Activity Groups are structured social skills groups for children and teens who benefit from extra support learning how to connect, communicate, and collaborate with peers. Through engaging games, guided activities, and small-group interaction, participants practice real-life social skills in a fun, supportive environment. Each group is carefully designed to meet children and teens where they are, while helping them grow socially at their own pace.
Building Social Skills Through Play, Connection, and Confidence
Quirky Activity Groups are therapeutically informed social skills groups that use play, activities, and guided discussion to help children and teens develop:
Social communication skills
Cooperative play and teamwork
Emotional regulation and coping strategies
Confidence in peer interactions
These groups are not traditional classrooms or therapy sessions. Instead, they combine structure with creativity so participants can practice skills naturally while having fun.

FAQ on the Teens, Kids, and Social Motivation Groups:
Q: How do I know which group would be a good fit for my child?
A: If you or your child is interested in our social skills groups, please fill out our Find Your Quirky Crew form. Each of our groups are designed to meet different interests and needs and we do our best to match each participant to a group that will meet their specific needs. The questionnaire will help the group leader identify what group placement may be appropriate for your child.
Q: What happens if there is not a group that addresses my child's specific needs?
A: We are always looking to potentially expand our groups depending on the needs of those who have expressed interest. Even if we do not have an appropriate placement at this time, we will keep your contact information and reach out in the future if/when we do have an appropriate social group placement.
Q: What do the social skills groups look like?
A: Each group is different and has been adjusted to the current participant's needs.
Our Monday and Wednesday Quirky Kids groups focus on play based activities and basic conversational skills. We incorporate games and fun activities that allow the participants to learn and practice cooperative play skills, good sportsmanship, coping strategies, conversational skills, and imaginative skills.
Our Tuesday Quirky Teens group focuses more on conversational skills, practicing recognizing social cues, and reviewing social skills curriculum content.
